Welcome, Newcomers

You don’t have to do this alone.

If you’re new to Alcoholics Anonymous, you’re in the right place. Many of us once felt lost, confused, or afraid to reach out — but recovery began the moment we did.

Keep coming back

You don’t have to understand everything — just show up, listen, and stay open.

Ask for help

AA members are here to help. Introduce yourself and ask questions.

One day at a time

You never have to drink again — just for today.

Find a sponsor

A sponsor helps guide you through the Steps and shares their experience.

Read the Big Book

Start with Chapters 3 and 5.

Go to meetings

Regular attendance keeps you connected and grounded.

What to expect at a meeting

  1. 1No fees, no dues — we pass a basket for voluntary contributions.
  2. 2People share their experience, strength, and hope about staying sober.
  3. 3You can just listen. No one will force you to talk.
  4. 4We don’t keep attendance or report to anyone.
  5. 5We focus on alcohol problems — not outside issues.

Next steps

A simple start is to try a few meetings, talk to someone who has been sober for a while, and grab some literature.

Many of us heard the phrase “Keep coming back.” It sounded cheesy, but it turned out to be the best advice we got.
